Strawberries are sugar-sweet, irresistible, and omnipresent -- even if you can't pick your own, you'll find pints and quarts of them at roadside
Lip scrubs are great for removing small amounts of dry skin and they’re also a great preventative measure for preventing dry skin from forming because they keep your lips hydrated and moisturised. However, if you’re suffering with very badly cracked skin on your lips, which may occur if you’ve recently had a common cold, exfoliating may not be the best option. In fact, it could make your lips quite sore.
Lip scrubs are quite similar to lip balms. They’re usually made from waxes, oils, fats, and butters, which help to hydrate and moisturise the skin. Lip scrubs will feel quite rough to the touch, and that’s because they’ll also contain an exfoliating product, which works to gently remove any dry skin from your lips. They’re ideal for smoothing and preparing the lips before applying your favourite lipstick for a flawless finish.
So, here’s a recipe for a super easy to make strawberry lip scrub recipe. It’s quick and easy to make and does a great job at exfoliating your lips, ridding them of dryness and leaving them looking healthy and moisturised.
What You Need:
- 1 Small Ripe Strawberry
- 1 tsp. Sugar
- 1/2 tsp. Coconut Oil
What you need to do:
- Cut the green top off of the strawberry and cut the strawberry in half and place in a small bowl. Mash the strawberry using a fork until it is a pulp-like consistency.
- Add the sugar and then the oil to the mixture and mix until a gritty paste forms. (If the mixture is too moist/runny, add some more sugar to it)
- Apply the mixture to your lips and gently massage for a few moments (pursing your lips together and rubbing works well too)
- Rinse mixture off with a washcloth and some warm water. Follow up with a moisturising lip balm/chopstick.
